Basqo Bim is a Colombian-American artist based in New Orleans who specializes in sculpture and assemblage. Basqo explores the tensions between conflicting needs, desires, fears, and memories, and they are always striving to push past their own self-imposed limitations to create work that is thematically uncomfortable and aesthetically jarring.

The process of creating art is both a meditative and healing practice for them, and their work is driven by a desire to explore and resolve the internal contradictions within themselves. By pushing their work to obsessive extremes, they create a space of internal dialogue that is both challenging and transformative.

Through their art, Basqo Bim seeks to offer viewers a glimpse into their own tensions by creating jarring shifts from the consensus reality while also grounding the work in familiar cultural and temporal reference points. The desired result is a visual and psychological journey that invites viewers to explore new worlds and perspectives.
